12" Ullage and Casting Rule (c. 1850-1860), by DRING & FACE TOOLEY STREET LONDON

12" Ullage and Casting Rule by Dring and Fage, Tooley Street, London, mid 19th century. This type of rule became popular in the first half of the century. It combines general logarithmic scales with those used particularly for calculating he volume of liquor in barrels. The volume could be calculated when the barrel was only partly full with the use of a gauging rod.
