Circular table-clock with calendrical and lunar indications made by Nicholas Vallin in London between 1598 and 1603.

This table clock enables the user to ascertain the hour of the day, the date of the month, the month of the year (January - December), the lunar date (1-29.5), the position of the Sun and the Moon within the twelve signs of the zodiac (Aquarius - Capricorn), the times of the Moon's southing and the lunar aspects. It was made by Nicholas Vallin, a clockmaker who moved to London with his father from Flanders during the late-sixteenth century. Nicholas and his entire household (close family and apprentices) died in the plague of 1603.
