A satirical print of an older man, dressed in night gown and and cap using a spyglass to view the Great Comet of 1811 (Napoleon’s comet) in the top right of the illustration. The man is oblivious to the attention being paid by a young man to a young woman. The comet was visible 25 March 1811 to 17 August 1812.
