Lithograph, col: showing Edwardian lady air pilot in Bleriot-type monoplane. [1912?] French? [framed size: 61.5x46cm]Prejelan was a French artist known for his humourous drawings, many of which appeared as postcards or in themed albums during the first two decades of the 20th century. Prejelan was himself an aviator and works such as his 'Croquis d'aviation' often combined an interest in flying with the portrayal of a fashionable young woman, dubbed 'la Beguinette'. This image reflects the pioneering cross-channel flight of 1909 by Louis Bleriot.
