Oil painting on canvas of Dodds Isaac (1801-1882), 1850-1859, 91.5x71cm, portrait, HL seated to L holding papers.Dodds Isaac was an engineer who designed and manufactured locomotives and made a number of inventions. In 1850 he took over the Holmes Engine and Railway Works Rotherham and had a reputtion for 'orignality of design and excellence iof work in the manufacture of locomotive, portable and other steam-engines, machinery and railway plant generally.'
