Marshall P. - 1775. - Oil on panel, 47.2x67.8x1.2cm in gilt frame, 63.5x84.5x7cm. - Perspective painting at 45 degree angle from Navy Board original plans. - Commissioned in 1773 by King George III as part of a series of paired bow and stern paintings of British warship models, one example of each class of ship in the naval establishment. Ship designed by Sir John Williams; built Portsmouth Dockyard; launched 1775; 20 guns 6th Rate; captured by the French 1779; recaptured later 1779; broken up in 1811 at Portsmouth
