[Model of HMS Berwick, stern view]. - [1747]. - Oil on copper, tacked to canvas backcloth; image 56x76cm, copper plate c37x60cm in gilt frame, 73x94x7cm. - No inscriptions or title. - Prototype, shown to King George III in 1773, of series of perspective paintings at 45 degree angle of British warship models. - Used to instruct Prince William Henry, later King William IV. - Ship, Establishment design proposed 1733; built Deptford Dockyard; launched 1743; 70 guns 3rd Rate; broken up 1760 Chatham Dockyard
