Drawing, Timothy Hackworth (1786-1850) first locomotive engineer of the Stockton and Darlington Railway 1825-1840. Artist unknown. Portrait, HS looking slightly r. [c1825-1830]. Pencil and water colour on paper, 11x8cm mounted in card 15x11cm. Poor condition paper and surface but face retains some pleasant features. Displayed in former Land Transport Gallery (closed 1996).
