Alarme generale des habitans de Gonesse occasionne par la chute balloon aerostatique de M. de Montgolfier le 27 aout, 1783 (= First ascent of a hydrogen balloon and destruction by the inhabitants of Gonesse). [ie, the experimental balloon launched from the Champ de Mars by J A C Charles]. Etching; 16 1/2x10 1/2 in. The balloon used hydrogen and was made of silk impregnated with rubber, a 'secret' process invented by the Robert brothers
