Sixty Four original drawings for Dr. F. Sherwood Taylor's book: "Illustrated History of Science"

A R Thomson illustrated a book containing the six lectures given by Dr Taylor at the 1953 Royal Institution Christmas lectures. These were first given by Michael Faraday to a young audience over a century earlier. The Royal Institution, besides organising the lectures, also arranged that the book would be illustrated by Thomson.

This folio contains the sixty four original illustrations depicting significant scientists throughout history.

It can be seen as a part of a renewed effort to enthuse young people about science in Britain after the Second World War.
