A coloured etching by H.T. De la Beche dated 1837 entitled "A Scientific Annual" measuring 26cmx30cm.

De la Beche shows a gentleman giving an after dinner speech at the 'Omniological Society'. The piece lampoons the scientific societies of the time, as the speaker praises 'the great man' Snooks: 'Gentlemen, were I to unbridle my feelings, and expres to you my high estimate of his superb talents, wonderful discoveries, or terrestrial reputation (applause), I should pain the well known modesty of my illustrious friend, (vehement applause)'. The speaker then lapses into a flowery and meaningles poem.
