Cuneo depicts the workshop interior, of the GEC Witton Works, making electric traction units; including stators, cooler boxes, rotors, for engines including hydrogen or air-cooled turbo alternators and induction motors. Cuneo's trademark mouse is also present.
Painted with the assistance of Edmund Hockridge during early stages, this painting was presented to the Science Museum by the Electrical Industry through the Committee of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. It was commissioned for a display on Electric Power. It is Cuneo's second largest painting.
