Engraving, stipple, col., some handcol., with gilt, letterpress text printed in black and red; image 44.5x63cm on sheet 48x65cm. Edition de A. Brissonet, inventor of the balloon Reclame, after data provided by M. Gabriel Mangin. Issued in honour of the exceptional service given on behalf of Paris, by the Municipal Council of the City of Paris, deliberated in session Wednesday 18 November 1874. ... a commemorative medal was awarded to each aeronaut of the siege. It is shown on the parapet on either side of the arms of the City. The list gives details of 66 balloons and their flights. bl: magic lantern in military use projecting information on collodion negatives (transported by carrier pigeon) enlarged onto a wall for copying by clerks
