Obverse: S.TH.A SOEMMERRING NAT.THORUNI D.XXVIII IAN.MDCCLV DOCT. CREAT. GOETTINGIAE D.VII APR. MDCCLXXVIII. (Samuel Thomas von Soemmerring, born in Toruń on 28 January 1755, doctorate degree conferred in Göttingen 7 April 1778.) Portrait bust looking right side. Along the inner ring, G.LOOS DIR. C.
