Inscribed obverse: FRIDTHIOF NANSEN/FRÅN KRISTIANIA DEN 24 JUNI 1893, reverse: ANDRÉES POLAR EXPEDITION/FRÅN GÖTEBORG DEN 7 JUNI 1896, signature: AUG. HÖGEL. The ship depicted is the 'Fram' (Forward) and the balloon is 'Örnen' (the Eagle)
