Wooden anatomical figure, male, possibly 17th century

This is a figure of a man lying on a bed with a pillow under his head. The figure is made of wood and the front can be removed to reveal the internal organs. The figure was probably used as a teaching aid - the study of human anatomy had begun to thrive in the 16th and 17th centuries.
