Book, Vesalius, De humani corporis fabrica, second edition, 1555
Vesalius's book 'De humani corporis fabrica' ('On the Structure of the Human Body') was first published in 1543 and contained detailed descriptions and illustrations of human anatomy. This second edition from 1555 was printed by Johannes Oporinus, in Basel in Switzerland. It contains woodcut illustrations. Andreas Vesalius (1514-1564) was professor of anatomy and medicine at the University of Padua, Italy.
