Human skin, with tattooed inscription, probably French, 1850-1900. Tattoo - fancy, handwritting-style lettering, degradation to skin surface makes this difficult to read, but appears to spell a name, perhaps 'Fatherma', fairly well executed in black, with another indistict symbol below. Skin - yellow-white, with evidence of degrading white residue on surface layer, possibly chemical. Roughly rectangular in shape, cut to frame the tattoo, thin cross-section.
