Postcards, two sets of 5, created by the Science Museum, London, UK. Reproduced from stamps celebrating aspects of British weather, issued by Royal Mail on 13 March 2001, designed by Howard Brown with illustrations by Tony Meeuwissen.
These stamps, reproduced here on postcards, depict aspects of British weather and the instruments used to observe it. In addition to the colourful designs, the original stamps also featured thermochromic paint: the cloud on the 'sunshine' stamp would chnage colour when warmed by the heat from a finger or thumb.
