Reseau grid (200 x 200 mm) by P. Gautier, Paris with wooden box. Silvered glass graticule plate with 160mm grid of 5mm lines to imprint a reference scales on glass photographic plates. Used at the University of Oxford Observatory for the 'Carte du Ciel', the first detailed international photographic survey of the night sky. The plate is marked, Gautier Reasu No.IX / for lunar plates'.
