Foil packet of five anti-SAA (serum amyloid A) sticks, a prototype made by Tridelta Development Limited, County Wicklow, Ireland, in 2001. A rapid test for use on the farm to detect raised levels of the acute phase protein, serum amyloid A, in samples of milk or blood. Endorsed by Marks & Spencer in May 2001, as a means of bioassurance, to guarantee the quality of meat from farms and abbatoirs supplying their stores.
