Child's mechanical spinal support, with adjustable moulded plastic waistband and neck and chin supports, from the Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital, Alton, Hampshire, England, 1965-1980

Made from plastic with foam neck and chin supports, this spinal support was worn by a child patient at the Lord Mayor Treloar Orthopaedic Hospital in Alton, Hampshire, England. Founded in 1908, the hospital specialised in treating children with orthopaedic conditions until it closed in the 1990s.
