Ashtray made of imitation walnut phenol formaldehyde. Circular, barrel-shaped, with stainless steel lid with three cigarette rests radiating out from central piercing. Base stamped ' THE VELOS ASH BARREL "NONSMOKER" ' around base rim; stamped "N0 1350" above "PATENT No 414224/ REGD. DESIGN 784752/ VELOS/TRADE MARK/MADE IN ENGLAND". "VELOS" is a trademark in lozenge superimposed over giant "V". Made c. 1950.
