Between the engravings on the front and back of a sector is written: 'These and all other Instruments for the Mathematical practice are made by Walter Hayes at the Crosse daggers in Moore feilds next dore to the Popes head Teverne and allso by Anthony Thompson in Hosier Lane neare Smithfeild.'
