Clock Mechanism and Weights from Original Clock at Edge Hill
Various components of clock mechanism from original clock at Edge Hill Station, Liverpool & Manchester Railway, opened 1836, no maker's name. Parts comprise: two iron rods of differing lengths and diameter, with fitting at both ends; one large winding key; two pulley wheels with hooks, differing sizes; two iron square plates which each have a large screw hole in each corner and a central projecting loop; an 'S' shaped loop; a short, chunky iron rod with large nut at one end to secure a square iron plate; two components with interlocking cogs and rods, which are stained green (copper alloy corrosion?).
