Postcard of a British soldier wearing two artificial legs. Probably photographed at Queen Mary's Convalescent Auxiliary Hospital, Roehampton, London. From an album of 104 postcards and a pen and ink drawing showing injured soldiers at Queen Mary's Orthopaedic Hospital, Roehampton, members of the Essex Regiment and other medical pictures, 1914-1918.

Queen Mary's was a specialised orthopaedic hospital opened in 1915 and was mainly devoted to fitting artificial limbs to the thousands of British soldiers who lost limbs during World War One, 1914-1918.
