A collection of approximately 6,400 negatives, from the Gorton works of the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, Great Central Railway, London & North Eastern Railway and British Railways. The collection features locomotives and carriages built at the works, workshop interiors, components and instructions. It also includes some images from Crewe Works. The work of official photographers. The early material is listed but there are no finding aids for the later photographers.
