Cast iron model of Huxtable Reversible Plough
John Huxtable patented this design of plough in 1877. It has two mould-boards mounted one above the other so that when the plough is turned at the end of a furrow, gearing rotates the mould-boards to bring the other into use. This is a contemporary model for the dominant type of modern plough, the turnover plough. The model was given to the Science Museum by a descendent of the inventor.
