The Yorkatt cartoons regularly featured in the city's local newspaper, the York Evening Press (later York Press) commenting on events in the headlines. They were based on the cartoonist, Richard Stansfield's pet cats, Tink and Eric. Mallard is displayed in the National Railway Museum, York.
