Graf, published by Roake and Varty, 31 Strand, London, 1840-1860. Includes a central image of two reindeer in an Arctic landscape, as well as eight titled vignettes that show how humans, specifically Sámi people from Northern Europe and the Russian Kola Peninsula, have made use of them, for example for food, clothing, commerce, and travelling by sledge. Vignettes titled ‘Milking the herd’, For food’, ‘Clothing’, ‘Commerce’, ‘Conveying Merchandise’, ‘Travelling by sledge’, ‘The carrier’ and ‘Hunting the wild deer’.
