Medal, commemorating the first balloon ascents in Italy, 1784. Bronze; 43mm diameter, 3mm deep. Obverse, relief of a large balloon beneath cloud, the aeronaut by a ladder in the gondola; inscription dated 1784. Reverse, inscription; head portrait of Andreani, profile relief to right, long curls; artist signed below, A. Guillemard. Count Andreani ascended at Moncucco on 25th February 1784, and made a second ascent there on 13th March 1784.
