Solar collectors of this design are being used to heat the Olympic swimming pools and are an environmentally friendly form of energy manufacture. This example was acquired for display in the Science Museum’s first ‘Ingenious’ exhibition in 2004, which was given an energy theme to complement the newly-opened permanent Energy Gallery. It has now been added to the Museum’s permanent collections.
