Collection of stamps cards and covers illustrating the development of international air post 1870-1950 / amassed by Miss Winifred Penn-Gaskell. 70: Pellicule, glass microphotograph message sent by pigeon post for use by projection onto a screen, by the French Army in the Siege of Paris 1870-1871. [date 22 janv, arrived, 2 fevr 1871]. Transparent paper [collodion process?], 5.2x3.8cm mounted in glass 7x4.3cm. Handwritten. Headed: Depeches Officielles 2me Serie No. 45. At top: signature de Lafollye. 16 sheets used 43 drawing pins to fit irregularly for photography scaled down by 40 diameter.
