"man and boy" lawnmower by Green, 1890

This is one of a set of three lawnmowers illustrating different intended users by the size of the rollers. The set is is from a very large collection of lawnmowers brought together by an individual family. A selection was acquired by the Science Museum to illustrate a number of stories relating to the history of grass-cutting, including the technology, the social context and sporting associations.
