At right are two arches of the bridge over the river. Original artwork for British Railways North Eastern Region poster, Richmond, Yorkshire, one of the See Britain by Train series. Framed, unglazed.

Oli painting, Richmond from the River by Edward Wesson, 1962. The painting depicts the view across the River Swale towards the arches of Richmond Bridge, with the keep and postern tower of the medieval castle on the hill beyond.

The painting is the original artwork for a British Railways North Eastern Region poster, published as part of the See Britain by Train series.

Wesson, who was born in 1910 and died in 1983 was an artist who produced many poster designs for railway companies.
