Part of four Elford filter assemblies, with Pyrex ® bottle containing two collodion filters, by Corning Glass Works, Corning, New York state, America, 1941-1975, and steel filter assembly, unsigned, Europe and spanners, unsigned, Europe, 1941-1975 (see Note). Used in the separation of different size viruses, at the MRC Common Cold Research Unit, Harvard Hospital, Harnham Down, Wiltshire, England (see Note).
