


Part of Goldstein-Scheerer Object Sorting Test for assessing impairment of integrative mental functioning, devised by Kurt Goldstein and Martin Scheerer, 1943; comprising Kohs Blocks Test, part of Colour Sorting Test, Supplementary Sheets, Check List Sheet, Supplementary Manual, Cube Test Designs and two copies of Psychological Monographs (No. 239, 1941); used by the Institute of Education at the University of Liverpool, c.1960-1990.
The Goldstein-Scheerer Object Sorting test is used to assess abstract thinking and how well concepts are formed. The patient is required to sort objects by colour or material, copy block patterns with coloured cubes. The tests are mainly used to diagnose neurological problems. The test was developed by German psychiatrist Kurt Goldstein (1878-1965) and the German psychologist Martin Scheerer (1900-61).
