Two black and white photographs showing the visit by Norma and Constance Talmadge (1920s Hollywood stars) to the Lounge Cinema in Leeds, September 1922.

Both Norma Talmadge (1894-1957) and Constance Talmage (1898 - 1973) were American actress of the silent era. Norma was also a successul film producer with her own production company. Their peak in populatirty was during the early 1920s when this photograph was taken. Both sisters (plus their other sister Natalie (1896 - 1969), also an actress retired from the movie business with the advent of the Talkies.

The Lounge cinema in Headingley, Leeds was opened in 1916 and closed in January 2005. Most of the building was demolished in January 2012, with only the facade being retained as part of a new development of flats, restaurant and bar.
