Hearth (length 15 ins) of soft wood and Sawing-thong (17 1/2 ins) of split bamboo; collected in the Naga Hills, November 1922; presented by Mr Henry Balfour. (Note the split end of the hearth, between the two ends of which, kept slightly apart by a small stone, some tinder is placed.) India.
