Fire-steel forming back of a brass-handled pocket-knife (length 3 ins), having three blades (one missing); handle, of cast brass, in form of a full-length full-faced figure of Napoleon, standing, with arms folded. France. [NB: one of eight specimens (nos. 512-519). Five are ordinary pocket-knives, the backs of which are either intended for use as fire-steels or have been used as such. In the case of the other three, the back of the knife-blade has been so used.]
