[One of] Three Tinder-boxes (lengths 2 1/8 to 1 7/8 ins) [no. 734 not on list A; annotated Bryant and May catalogue lists this one as missing]; all oval, with thick steel rim all round (slightly engraved in one case); both lid and bottom of all formed of a piece of polished agate, in a brass setting; each contains a gun-flint. [One of 34 examples (nos. 730-763) ... of various shapes and materials. All are of iron unless otherwise described. Some are plain, but most are more-or-less elegant, both in shape and decoration. All are probably European.]
