Tinder-box (length 1 5/8 in) of brass gilt; rectangular, with steel on edge; two compartments, both in upper side, each with a separate lid, with common hinge in middle; each lid with a large boss in centre, having a diminutive flower on top, in silver, inlaid, and a similar small flower with two leaves in each corner, inlaid; on bottom, a basket of flowers, chased in high relief, with portions in copper and silver, inlaid, within an oval beaded border, in silver, inlaid. ? Some are plain, but most are more-or-less elegant, both in shape and decoration. All are probably European.]
