Model of a Tinder-horn (length 3 1/2 ins) of bullock's horn, with bottom and plug (at smaller end) of cork; contains rag-tinder, charred. (The late Mr. Alderman Thomas, of Cardiff, seeing a road-mender using the original to get a light for his pipe by the roadside at Gower, Glamorganshire, paid the man to make two others exactly like it; one ... he gave to the man in exchange for the original, which is now in the Royal Welsh Museum at Cardiff; this is the other.) South Wales.
