Tinder-pouch (length 2 1/2 ins) of fine brown leather; small and poor; similar to and evidently by same maker as foregoing (no. 953); surface of leather bears traces of lacquering; no ring at top, a cord of purple silk serving for suspension; very short steel affixed to bottom; on steel, same inscription and maker's mark as on foregoing (no. 953). Japan.
