Tinder-pistol (length 7 ins) of brass, with mechanism of iron; handle flat, ending in a brass knob; tinder compartment in side, with very small candle-socket on its lid; standing deer engraved on top; clearly by the same maker as the preceding (no. 1043); inscribed on handle "1612" (but this apparently a recent addition) [external mechanism]; bought in Antwerp; probably 18th century. ?
