Tinder-pistol (length 8 ins) wholly of iron, with straight, hollow, barrel-shaped handle, which unscrews; tinder-receptacle in side; no decoration; no candle-socket; probably 18th century. ? Germany or Italy. [Nos 1047-1075 are all of iron or brass and have wooden butts. All have external mechanisms].
