Paper Label (2 x 1 1/4 ins) from top of an Instantaneous Light Box (probably similar to no. 1266, but rather smaller); printed in black, from engraved plate; reads "Improved London Fire "Boxes, for obtaining Immediate Light. Directions: - Dip the "Match sharply into the Bottle and Instantly withdraw it"; label found recently in an old scrap-book; date about 1825. England.
