Instantaneous Light Box (length 3 2/5 ins) of walnut-wood; rectangular, with hinged wooden lid, closing with a snap-catch; exterior polished, with narrow lines of white wood inlaid; interior veneered in satin-wood, somewhat charred by escaped acid; on top of lid, the word "Feu" inlaid, in large letters of white wood; one end, hinged, bears signs of having borne a small candle; all contents missing. France.
