A Lighter (length 2 3/4 ins) of brass, gilt; another form of the above; made in two shallow halves, hinged at one side, and held closed by a steel pin at other side; each half contains cavities for four amorces (as those described above); amorces are ignited by drawing the roughened head of the pin forcibly through the hole, the sides of box being pierced in the middle of each cavity to admit of this; each half inscribed outside "Dargy, Bté. S.G.D.G." France. [Ignites when friction is applied to an amorce of amadou].
