[One of] Seven Match-boxes (each about 80 x 35 mm) of wood, turned; round, with slip-on lid; sanded in red either top or bottom; on side, a white paper label, printed in blue, "Superior Congreve Matches from one of the greatest and most famous german manufactories. - I.N.E." [i.e. J. N. Engert, of Nüremberg, the maker] with the Arms of the Kingdom of Bavaria, large, in centre, and two (? family) Coats of Arms, small, on each side; one hand-dated 1860; all contain full complements of about 75 slender round wooden Matches (length, 55 mm), sulphur-dipped, with reddish-brown heads; made for the English market. Germany.
